The Power Team

Though the idea of what The Power Team does is strange and is not really appealing, they clearly to do promote the values of not doing drugs, not drinking alcohol, and avoiding premarital relations. With this in mind, I believe two ideas really stuck with me after reading this. First of all, The Power Team tactics of putting their message out there are no different than a really shady car salesman or a swift politician. Moreover, no one seems to really care when they get screwed over in a deal or price negotiation. Likewise, it doesn't matter when the government wants to cut educational funding, but it is okay that they take pay raises and longer vacations. Therefore, I come to my second point that the world finds religion to be too sensitive off a subject, so rather than dealing with it; it should be totally ignored, just like anything else important.

Naked

I found this entry by David Sedaris to be way too bizarre and very unentertaining. While this is a true account, I just didn't understand the point behind reading this entry. I guess the point was to read something quite different in nature about a boy who seemed to be obsessive-compulsive. I believe that it just was not my cup of tea and therefore, leaves me scratching my head wondering what I just read.
